What do I need to bring to class?
When planning on attending class, try not to eat two hours before practicing and make sure you are well hydrated.

Main items include:
- - water bottle
- - yoga mat
- - hand towel
- - large towel

What's with the heat?
The Hot Yoga lineage comes from Calcutta, India, which is a very hot and humid environment. The controlled environment of the yoga room creates a balance of heat and humidity that is therapeutic to the body.

Some benefits include:
- - increased flexibility so we are less susceptible to injury
- - detoxification through heavy sweating
- - increased heart rate for a better cardiovascular workout
- - exfoliates and rejuvenates the skin
- - increase in the fat burning process!

I don't think the heat is for me.
In my experience as a Hot Yoga teacher over the last eight years, nine times out of ten it is the person that came to their first class saying they really can't handle the heat that is now saying (5 classes later) "It wasn't so hot in there today!" or "Did you feel a draft?" My point is just try it. If you don't think you like it try it three more times. You will be surprised how fast we acclimate to the heat!

Why should I do yoga?
Yoga asana's (postures) are designed to work internally, energizing all systems of the body making us well oiled machines. It also creates the perfect marriage of strength, flexibility and balance. Yoga is the only exercise in the world that leaves our body with a surplus of oxygen in the body; all others leave our bodies depleted of oxygen.
